The Local Care Group is owned and managed by Mother & Daughter Kate & Amy.
While Kate has been in the care sector for over 30 years, Amy has extensive knowledge in the sector with over 10 years experience herself in delivering, managing and developing a highly skilled reputable homecare team. Highly educated in managing a health and social care team, Amy remains focused on maintaining the local, personal, caring, family values that Kate has so passionately embedded over the years.
After being unable to find suitable support at home, Kate’s Grandma was forced to go into a care home where she was sadly and devastatingly, neglected.
This personal experience drove Kate’s passion to ensure the people in her local community could find suitable support and remain at home if they wished to do so.
Kate employed over 50 local people who were then able to support many of those in their own community to stay at home. The difference this made in our local area was significant and remarkable.
Kate continued to support her care team day and night alongside bringing up her 3 children.
Kate eventually made a difficult decision to stop taking on any new clients so she could slow down and focus on her own family. This was a heart breaking decision for Kate.
Those that know her will understand this, as Kate is naturally the sort of person that just wants to help everyone! She still lives with regret about the people who contacted her that she couldn’t help.
As soon as Kate was able too, she began rebuilding her care team and helping as many people as she could in her local community.
After working alongside Kate and experiencing for herself the difference Kate’s company was having in the local community, Amy knew she had to help and that it was something she wanted to be involved in. She decided to leave her full-time job and joined Kate’s team full-time as the company manager.
Kate and Amy changed the company name and
THE LOCAL CARE GROUP LIMITED was born.
THE LOCAL CARE GROUP LIMITED had a full CQC inspection and we’re proud to receive a GOOD CQC rating in all 5 key lines of enquiry.
The Local Care Group was also awarded a Workforce Development Award by Nottinghamshire County Council in recognition of the outstanding skills and knowledge within our care team.
After seeing the difference the team was making in our community, The Local Care Group Limited was awarded BEST SMALL BUSINESS in the Nottinghamshire Post Women in Business Awards.
The Local Care Group worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to ensure the people in their community felt safe and supported.
With ever changing regulations, our amazing care team stood by each day and night, putting the safety of others before themselves.
Our determination throughout the pandemic, gratefully, did not go unnoticed. The Local Care Group received many awards such as becoming finalists in THE GREAT BRITISH CARE AWARDS for Covid – Hero, Registered Manager, Workforce Development and much more.
Amy was also awarded OUTSTANDING WOMEN IN CARE AWARDs by Women in Business Awards as well as being invited for tea at the House of Lords for our continued efforts and commitment throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Local Care Group is going stronger than ever continuing to provide a local friendly and caring service to those who need us in our local community.
A strong management team is in force, with a passionate care team and our covid recovery plan is ensuring we are improving at all times and being better than ever!
With surviving the covid pandemic and coming through with new offices, new meeting rooms, company cars for our staff, personalised training plans, outstanding reviews and new care software, is there anything this company cannot do?
SO WHAT NEXT….?
Our future plans are to continuously improve our service experience for our service users and staff members, to improve the emotional and physical well being of our whole care family and to expand our services locally so we can help more people who need us.
We will continue to use evidence-based practice to present the passionate care our team delivers, so they can achieve the OUTSTANDING rating they strive to achieve in our next CQC inspection.
Our regular carer – is competent and capable in all areas we require. Friendly, cheerful, and happy in her work. The patient is always ready to see her. Our carer’s background support is first class.

I just wanted to thank the team who looked after my sister. The care you give her is outstanding. I saw that you treated her with dignity, respect, kindness, and compassion.
At an extremely difficult time, I’m sure she felt supported and reassured by your presence. It’s a cliche, but your team really did go the extra mile and supported not only my sister but her family, too. They liaised with professionals and had her best interests front and foremost. They showed they cared but were never patronising and always made sure my sister’s wishes and feelings were respected and maintained appropriate professional boundaries at all times.
