Fit and Proper Persons Campaign

The mental and physical health of our care family is, of course, our top priority. You can’t look after others if you are not looking after yourself.

We treat all those in our care family as we do those in our own family. We have a small, friendly ambitious and caring team and we aim to do everything we can to keep it this way.

The CQC regulations clearly state that to work in health or social care you need to be a ‘fit and proper person’ which then continues further along the policy in more detail to explain this means you must be ‘kind, caring and honest.’

The experiences of our company owner, Amy, during her career in health and social care has unfortunately shown this is not the case and too many good caring staff members become ill or leave the industry due to the attitude of other professionals in the sector.

This has included GPs, social workers, nurses, other care workers, OTs, GP receptionists. The list is endless.
Because this is across companies, many seem to think this is acceptable and they are not sanctioned for doing so.

Amy is passionate about changing this. If you bully someone in your own workplace you would be sanctioned for it, this should be the same across the board. No bullying is acceptable. We should work together in partnership and support each other. #bekindatalltimes

Therefore, we have zero tolerance of bullying or abuse of our staff. And we hope this campaign will educate and inform others of these issues, and hopefully make the UK health and social care sector a happier place to work in for all.

Our own mental health needs to be everyone’s priority. We are posting some links below where support can be found!
